The Benefits Committee of AFA-CWA at PSA is dedicated to educating and assisting flight attendants with all matters related to benefits — including 401(k), health and dental insurance, travel benefits, maternity programs, worker’s compensation, and leave of absence programs.
Committee Responsibilities
The Benefits Committee serves as an advocate for the membership on benefit-related matters. Key responsibilities include:
Soliciting member concerns and questions about benefits, insurance, maternity, worker’s compensation and leaves of absence.
Addressing issues through established protocols, working with management to resolve claims or disputes.
Acting in an advisory capacity to Officers and Councils on benefit matters.
Communicating updates and relevant information to flight attendants, in coordination with the Communications Committee and Local Councils.
When to Reach Out
You are encouraged to contact the Benefits Committee when you encounter:
Questions or issues regarding company-provided or voluntary benefits programs.
Situations involving medical or maternity leaves of absence.
Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) questions or initiating FMLA.
On-the-job injuries or workers’ compensation procedures.
Any other benefit-related concerns that require union support or guidance.
