Supporting Flight Attendants on Reserve Status Through Education, Advocacy & Contract Compliance
The Reserve Committee is dedicated to monitoring and addressing all issues specific to flight attendants on reserve status. Whether it’s understanding your rights under the contract, interacting with Crew Scheduling, or ensuring reserve lines meet contractual standards — this Committee is here to assist.
Responsibilities & Duties
Key functions of the Committee include:
Assisting reserve flight attendants with contract comprehension and facilitating interactions with Crew Scheduling.
Providing education to reserve flight attendants about contract provisions that specifically apply to reserve status.
Being available to answer questions from reserve flight attendants, on a proactive and reactive basis.
Monitoring all reserve‑specific concerns at the local level (base, domicile, scheduling practices).
Reviewing reserve lines to ensure they conform to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and raise issues when they do not.
Why This Matters
Flight attendants on reserve status face unique challenges — uncertain schedules, standby assignments, and complex bidding/line build rules. Ensuring that reserve rights are upheld under the contract helps maintain fairness, transparency, and operational readiness. This Committee empowers the membership by providing clarity, advocacy, and oversight.
