Hotel Committee

Advocating for Safe, Comfortable Layovers and Reliable Transportation

The Hotel Committee is charged with investigating flight‑attendant complaints related to hotel facilities and transportation providers during layovers. The Chairperson leads periodic inspections of these facilities to identify declines in quality and works proactively to eliminate or avoid problems that affect crew well‑being and operational safety.

Responsibilities & Duties

Key functions of the Committee include:

  • Advising Officers on matters concerning hotel accommodations, transportation services and member layover conditions.

  • Monitoring and investigating write‑ups submitted by flight attendants regarding hotels, transportation providers, or other layover‑related concerns that may impact safety or contractual compliance.

  • Reviewing current and future layover sites for compliance with relevant contract language and operational standards.

  • Collaborating with the Grievance Committee when contractual violations arise related to hotel or transportation issues.

  • Attending management briefings and coordinating with company counterparts to provide union input on future accommodations and transportation planning.

Why This Matters

Layovers and transportation are not merely conveniences—they directly affect rest, performance, morale and safety. When accommodations or transit arrangements fall short, it affects our crews’ ability to execute their duties safely and professionally. The Hotel Committee is here to ensure that standards are upheld and that you have support when issues arise.
