Open Enrollment occurs once each year. You may change your benefit elections during the open enrollment period. Once you have made your selection, you may not change benefit elections until the next open enrollment unless you have a qualifying event in employment or family status.  If you experience a family status change and want to change your benefits, you will have up to 30 days to make the change in Workday.

Health and Dental Insurance

Health Insurance – Administered by UMR using the United Healthcare network – ID Card issued annually and can be printed online

PSA will offer two PPO plans and an HDHP (High Deductible Health Plan) through our Third Party Administrator (TPA) UMR and United Healthcare, which is our network provider.

Of the two PPO plans the most significant differences between the 2 plans is the co-pays/co-insurance, deductibles and maximum out of pocket.  There are some minor other differences in how the plans work.  A preferred provider organization (PPO) is a network of doctors and health care facilities that provide services to plan members at discounted rates. You can go to any doctor you like within the network, including specialists, without a referral. In-network preventive care is covered in full.  If you go to an out-of-network provider, the plan will pay benefits based on Reasonable and Customary rates for that particular health care service in your geographic area. If your out-of-network provider charges more than the amount covered by the plan, you will have to pay all charges over the allowed amount.

WHAT IS A HIGH DEDUCTIBLE HEALTH PLAN?
A High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) is a health insurance plan with higher deductibles and lower premiums compared to traditional health plans. These plans can combine a tax-advantaged Health Savings Account (HSA) with a PPO health insurance plan.

Prescription Program – Administered by OptumRX – Same ID card as Health Insurance

Our Prescription Drug Program utilizes a network of pharmacies that allows for wide access in your community, as well as access across the country. Your prescription coverage is automatically linked to the medical plan you select.

CRX Preferred Meds – Administered by CRX International

CRXPreferredMeds is a voluntary international mail order prescription program that is available to eligible team members and dependents of PSA Airlines. Brand name medications, in the original factory-sealed manufacturers packaging, are delivered direct to your door from certified pharmacies in Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. You pay nothing thanks to the savings CRX brings to your plan. This voluntary program does not replace your current prescription benefit plan.

Dental Insurance – Administered by Metlife – ID Card not required but may be accessed through website

Dental enrollment will continue to be packaged with Plan A enrollment. Dental coverage is a stand-alone enrollment option for those enrolling in Plan B, the HDHP or waiving Medical coverage.

Under this plan, you are free to go to any licensed dentist you choose, but the plan pays a higher level of benefits if you go to an In-Network dentist. If you go to a dentist outside the network, the plan’s benefits will be based on the R&C* for a particular dental service in your area. If the dentist charges more than the R&C, you will have to pay the difference.

Vision – Administered by EyeMed – ID Card not required

Under the vision care program, you can choose between In-Network and Out-of-Network providers, but you will receive a higher level of benefits, and enjoy greater convenience, if you go to a vision care provider in the network. If you decide to go to an out-of-network provider, you will pay the entire bill up front, then file a claim with EyeMed. The plan will reimburse you for your out-of-network services up to the allowances listed below.

Life Insurance

PSA does offer a couple of different options for Life and AD&D Insurance, all of these options are administered by MetLife

Company-Paid Life Insurance – 25.A

The Company will provide at no cost to the Flight Attendant life insurance coverage for Flight Attendants in an amount equal to 1.5 times the Flight Attendant’s annual salary, (rounded to the nearest $500), up to a maximum of $50,000

Company Paid AD&D Insurance

This plan pays an additional benefit if you die as a result of a covered accident. Benefits are also payable if you suffer certain severe injuries in an accident, including loss of limb, sight, or paralysis.
Your company-paid AD&D benefit is equal to your life insurance benefit.

Supplemental Life Insurance

The Supplemental life insurance plan lets you buy coverage in addition to the Life insurance provided by PSA Airlines. You will pay the full cost of your Supplemental Life insurance through payroll deductions.
If you purchase Supplemental life insurance coverage for yourself, you may also purchase coverage for your family members.

If you did not enroll as a new hire, you must provide evidence of good health in order to enroll or increase your coverage.

Supplemental AD&D Insurance

The Supplemental AD&D insurance plan lets you buy coverage in addition to the AD&D insurance provided by PSA Airlines. You will pay the full cost of your Supplemental AD&D insurance through payroll deductions.
If you did not enroll as a new hire, you must provide evidence of good health in order to enroll or increase your coverage.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

FSAs allow you to save money by paying certain health and dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis. You pay no taxes on the money you put in these accounts, which means more take-home pay for you.  This plan is administered by UMR

FSAs DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY RENEW EVERY YEAR, MUST REENROLL AT OPEN ENROLLMENT

HEALTH CARE FSA

To pay for out-of-pocket medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision care expenses for yourself and your eligible family members — even if you do not cover your family members under the PSA Airlines health care plans. You can use the FSA to pay expenses like medical and dental plan deductibles and copays; orthodontia expenses not covered by your dental plan, prescription drugs, prescription glasses and contact lenses, and laser eye surgery. You are not eligible for the Health Care FSA if you have the Health Savings Account (HSA).

DEPENDENT CARE FSA

This FSA lets you set aside pre-tax money to pay for eligible dependent care expenses for children up to age 13, and eldercare expenses, so that you — and your spouse, if you are married — can work.

LIMITED PURPOSE FSA

This account is for those enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), and may be used for qualified dental and vision expenses only.

FSA DEBIT CARD

Debit cards will be issued to new enrollees. You can use your card to access your FSA funds for eligible expenses. This card works like a bank debit card — just swipe it when you make your purchase and the money will automatically be deducted from your account. You may be asked to document your FSA expenses, so be sure to save your receipts!

Health Savings Account - Only available with the High Deductible Plan

WHAT IS AN HSA?

An HSA is a tax-advantaged medical savings account that helps participants save money to pay for medical, dental & vision expenses. The account is owned by the participant, not the employer.  It is administered by OptumBank

  • Money goes in the account through pre-tax payroll deductions.
  • Unused funds in your account rollover and accumulate year after year.
  • You can use your HSA to pay for qualified medical expenses such as deductibles, prescription costs, and dental and vision expenses.
  • Team members are responsible for enrolling in their HSA through the Workday system.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR AN HSA?

  • You must have the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) to be eligible to contribute to an HSA.
  • You cannot be covered by any other non-high deductible medical plan such as an individual plan, spouse’s plan, Medicare, Medicaid, retiree or government plan.
  • You cannot be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s tax return.
  • You cannot have received VA benefits within 3 months.

DEBIT CARD

New enrollees will be issued a debit card through Optum Bank. This card can be used for all qualified medical, dental and vision care expenses. Please note that you must save all receipts for substantiation.
